Highlights of Peru will take you to the exploration of the “Lost City of the Incas”. Machu Picchu is one of the Seven Wonders of the World… and much more. On our trip to Machu Picchu, you will enjoy a beautiful drive along with Sacred Valley and an expedition train ride to appreciate the beauty of Peru and its jungles. Then we will discover the ancient city of Cusco with an optional tour to the well-preserved ruins of Sacsayhuaman fortress, an imposing example of Inca military architecture.

Casa Andina Standard Benavides is in the Miraflores district right on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. This beautiful neighbourhood of Lima has tons to offer its visitors and it is considered one of the safest places of Lima city. Many parks full of flowers, walking and cycling green roads, shopping centres, restaurants, and beautiful cafes on the coastline of Miraflores offer amazing views over the Pacific Ocean.
This modern and cozy hotel has decent-sized rooms with good bathroom and closet. The buffet breakfast has good selections with vegan and vegetarian options. Staff are friendly and helpful, fluent in English and so many good things about this hotel make guests’ stay relaxing and comfortable.

This historical house from the 18th century was converted into a traditional hotel in the Sacred Valley. Its fantastic location in the valley has an amazing view of the mountains, especially in the hotel’s large courtyard where tables and chairs are set up for guests to relax and admire the scenery.
This local business is staffed with very responsive, helpful, and friendly personnel. The guest rooms feature natural wooden flooring and wide windows for a panoramic view of the garden and mountains.
The restaurant has incredible food and service with a bar serving some local drinks. Breakfast is mostly made with local organic vegetables and some vegetables harvested from the garden in the hotel’s courtyard.

Day 1: Lima (Arrival)
Upon your arrival at Lima airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel by a 10togo.tours representative. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Welcome to Lima, capital city of Peru, a metropolitan city known as a gastronomical capital of South America. Lima is flanked by picturesque hills and valleys as well as pristine beaches that outline the Pacific Ocean. The “City of Kings” was founded by conquistador Francisco Pizarro in 1535 and became a political, administrative, religious, and economic capital of Viceroyalty of Peru. Viceroyalty was considered the most important city of the Spanish dominions in South America, its rich cultural heritage with extraordinary museums, and historic center (UNESCO) welcomes travellers from around the world.

Day 2: Lima - Cusco (By flight) – Sacred Valley (B/L/-)
In the early morning, you will transfer to the airport for your short flight over the magnificent snow-capped Andes mountains to Cusco, the oldest inhabited city in the Southern hemisphere and an ancient capital of Incan Empire.
Upon arrival to Cusco (elevation: 3399 m / 11151.57 feet) you will be greeted and transferred to Urubamba in the Sacred Valley through fertile valleys with spectacular views. On the way, we will stop to visit Chinchero Market, a colorful local market where residents buy and sell their goods. As you stroll through the market, you’ll see a wide range of unique handmade items, providing you with the perfect opportunity to purchase beautiful souvenirs.
Before continuing to our next destination, we will have lunch at an amazing traditional hacienda-style restaurant of “Tunupa Valle”. At this excellent buffet style restaurant, you will have the opportunity to taste a variety of Peruvian dishes. You can also enjoy the breathtaking view of the shore of Urubamba River and live music when you walk to the yard of the restaurant.
Afterwards, we will continue to discover one of the last remaining Incan towns, Ollantaytambo. This massive archaeological complex, a former Inca administrative center, was once fiercely guarded by a massive fortress and was used as a rest stop for loyal delegations who were on long journeys.
Overnight in Urubamba

Day 3: Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Sacred Valley (B/L/-)
Finally, the most anticipated day has come… Machu Picchu!
Early morning, we will drive to the train station to get on the Premium Economy train of “Inca Rail” to travel to “Lost City of Incas”. This journey will take one and half hours and pass through amazing scenery of tropical jungles alongside fast flowing rivers.
On your arrival at Aguas Calientes, you will take the 15-minutes shuttle bus to Machu Picchu. From here, your guided tour starts.
Machu Picchu is shrouded by mist and surrounded by lush vegetation at the steep slope. It is 2430 m/ 7972 ft above sea level and affords a spectacular view of mountains and valleys around Machu Picchu and its famous Inca style terraces. This awe-inspiring ancient city of the Incas was never discovered by the Spanish colonizers and was virtually forgotten until it was discovered by Hiram Bingham of Yale University in 1911.
After exploring Machu Picchu, you will enjoy a buffet lunch and then transfer back to your hotel in Sacred Valley by train and then bus.
Overnight in Urubamba

Enjoy your breakfast at your traditional hotel before being transferred to Cusco. Upon your arrival to Cusco, you will check-in to your hotel before your walking tour.
During the Cusco walking tour, you will learn about the Andean and Spanish cultures and their influences on one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the Western Hemisphere and formerly the capital of the extensive Inca empire.
Additionally, you will see mostly Spanish colonial structures built over remaining of Incan foundations and ruins. Our first stop will be Santo Domingo Convent, consecrated in 1654, built on top of the Inca Palace and temple, Koricancha, which was an important center of worship of the Sun God.
The tour will continue to the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) of Cusco, a busy and vibrant square which marks the colonial centre of the city. Spanish colonizers and earthquakes destroyed native temples and buildings here which were replaced with churches and mansions, yet the site still has remained an important hub of social, political, and religious life for the people of Cusco.
Here you will visit the Cathedral from the early 17th century which is the best example of colonial baroque art.

Day 6: Cusco – Lima (By Flight) (B/-/-)
Enjoy your breakfast in the morning before transferring to the airport for your short flight back to Lima. Upon arrival, you will be met by 10togo.tours representative and your half day Lima tour will begin.
The Lima half-day tour is a mix of both colonial and modern parts of Lima which includes a visit to the vibrant Plaza Mayor (Main square), the Government Palace and City Hall (outside views) and a visit to the Cathedral of Lima and the Convent of Santo Domingo.
Santo Domingo Convent was one of the first churches built by the Spanish in Peru in 1535 and since then the impressive pink church has been rebuilt and remodeled at various points. Its beautifully decorated walls with Spanish tiles from the 17th century and beautiful courtyard with wooden balconies above it and an amazing view of the pink bell tower makes it inviting for any visitor. This church is also the house of holy paintings, images, and relics of Peruvian saints.
Then we will continue to visit modern Lima by driving along with the exclusive residential areas of Miraflores and San Isidro.
Overnight: Lima
