The Giza Pyramids are a collection of three pyramids. The first is the Great Khufu’s (Cheops) Pyramid built in 2690 BCE and ___. Then you will visit the rest of the Giza Plateau including the sight of second pyramid, Khafre’s Pyramid - Khufu's son and the second-largest pyramid. And finally, the Menkaure Pyramid, the smallest of all three; all proudly guarded by the famous Sphinx.

Day 3: Cairo to Alexandria
The pride of ancient Alexandria was the great lighthouse (110 meters), the Pharos of Alexandria, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world that was still standing until the 12th century. We will discover remnants of the lighthouse that can be seen in the construction of Fort Qaitbay, built in the 1480’s.
Alexandria came to be regarded as the capital of knowledge and learning, in part because of its legendary Library that helped the city to attract scholars, scientists, philosophers, mathematicians, artists, and historians. Today the new Alexandria Library built-in 2002 shaped like a massive, partly hidden, tilted disc rising from the Mediterranean, evokes the image of a rising sun, a source of light and enlightenment.
The tour continues to Alexandria National Museum featuring over 1800 archaeological pieces that narrate the Pharaonic, Greek, Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and modern history of Egypt.
Finally, we will visit El Montazah Gardens, containing gardens and two palaces overlooking a truly beautiful stretch of coast. These two royal palaces, built during the 19th and 20th centuries. These palaces mix Turkish and Florentine architecture, and its central tower was inspired by Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
A special seafood lunch will be provided on the bay of Abukir, the scene of the naval battle between Nelson and Napoleon. Return to Cairo in the early evening.

Afterwards, we will visit the unfinished Obelisk laying as a sleeping giant in a bed of granite. This majestic monolith of Aswan offers the chance to shed some light on how such massive structures were created by the unmatched intelligence and skill of ancient Egyptians. It is without a doubt the largest obelisk ever constructed but left uncompleted more than 3,500 years ago.
Last but not least, we will explore Philae Temple, one of the most picturesque temples in all of Egypt. This magnificent complex was moved carefully from its original place to its current location at Aglika Island following the construction of the High Dam, which threatened to submerge it permanently.
Overnight in Aswan
Day 5: Aswan
In the afternoon, we will sail through history by felucca and alight upon Aswan Botanical Garden. Situated on Kitchener's Island on the Nile, this paradise has been cultivated to sustain Egypt's most rare and endemic plants, as well as importing plants from the Far East, India and parts of Africa. Feluccas are Mediterranean wooden boats that are rigged with a canvas sail to silently slice through the waters of the Nile instead of boisterous motorboats that may jar your sense of relaxation and wonder.
An addition to this memorable sailing, you will appreciate a visit to the Botanical Garden by strolling through the beauty of fascinating plants and be surrounded by the sights and sounds of beautiful and interesting feathered creatures.

Day 7: Luxor (The City of a Hundred Gates)
Afterwards, we will visit Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (c.1473–1458 BCE), the queen who became pharaoh, built a magnificent temple at Deir al-Bahari, on the west side of Luxor. This multi-story structure is situated along the limestone cliffs behind the Nile valley, in a spectacular panorama.
From there we will go to Valley of kings, once called the Great Necropolis of Millions of Years of Pharaoh. This valley is consistent of 63 magnificent and hidden underground mausoleums from the New Kingdom period (1550-1069 BCE), a royal burial ground for pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II, as well as queens, high priests, and other elites.
Lunch break, followed by a visit to the East Bank with a first stop at the astonishing beautiful Karnak Complex and temple. Within its precincts are the Great Temple of Amun, the Temple of Khons, and the Festival Temple of Tuthmosis III, as well as surrounding minor temples and sanctuaries.
The complex is not built to a single unified plan. Instead, it represents the building activity of many successive rulers, who vied with one another in adding to and adorning this great national sanctuary, which became the most important of Egypt's temples during the New Kingdom.
Last but not least, you will visit a strikingly graceful monument in the heart of the modern town, Luxor temple. The temple was largely built by the New Kingdom pharaohs Amenhotep III (1390–1352 BCE) and Ramses II (1279–1213 BCE). This temple later during the Christian era, underwent a transformation into a church, while in the Islamic period, the Mosque of Abu el-Haggag, dedicated to a revered holy man, was built inside the complex grounds.
